Hello Spring - Can you hear me?

We really miss you here in Wisconsin....it snowed again last night. I am getting mighty tired of all the snow. I just ordered 3 lilac trees and can't wait to plant them. As soon as you get here spring, I will do that!

Fun New Pennant Banner

So I had a birthday gift to come up with and I am not too sure what an 8 year old girl is into......So after pondering & questions my "peeps" I decided to make a fun banner for her - with her name on it!

I fell in love with the project - it was easy & so darn cute - the photos don't do it justice. I plan on making more for my house for sure. The girls room will be getting banners soon....maybe even an Easter banner?

Do I also foresee a banner tutorial in the future? I sure do.

Rosemary Dijon Bread

This bread was so easy & yummy! We had people over for dinner & this was the bread I made. I smelled fantastic & tasted just as good. I will be experimenting more with Dijon.....

Rosemary Dijon Bread

1 tube (10 oz) refrigerated pizza dough
2 T Dijon Mustard
1 T Chopped Garlic (I like the jar kind myself)
2 t Olive Oil
1-1/2 c shredded cheese - I used mozzarella & cheddar
1 t dried rosemary

Preheat over to 425. Unroll pizza crust on a lightly greased or sprayed cookie sheet. Push the dough out to a rectangle shape (about 9 x 13) Bake for 5 Minutes.
Mix your mustard, garlic & oil together, then spread over the cooked crust.
Sprinkle the cheese & then the rosemary, pop in the oven for 8-9 minutes or until crust is golden and the cheese is melted.

And enjoy!!

Booth Set Up

So I had a large space at the show this weekend......it came with lights & a table - so I didn't have to lug mine own in! Yippee!! So here is my sprawled out space....I think the show went pretty well. The bookmarks did well, but I was surprised the initial pendants didn't - you just never know. As you can see the show was at a bar - it sounds crazy I know - but it is a great one...the bar is nice & clean & open....they serve food & drinks during the show so people come & stay for quite a while.....

Have a great night everyone.

I will have an apron tutorial to show you soon - the apron is made, the photos are taken I just need to sit down & type up the how-tos...

Ugh, the flu

Well, the show was great -thank you all who came down & to Naomi & family for hosting such a fine event. I got my self a new photo for my sewing area, a cookbook (more recipes to try!) and a skirt - yes you heard me a skirt.....

On my drive home I got a call from my husband that he was throwing up. I have never seen the man so sick. By midnight I was also throwing up a storm......Sunday was a rough one, luckily my mom came & got the girls so we didn't get them sick too. I am home from work today feeling like I got hit by a truck.

My goal today is to disinfect our home!

Have a great Monday

Ugly Stained Shirt= Cute Tu-Tu Shirt

So Audrey enjoys tu-tus. She likes to run around with them on. She has a pink one that is attached to a onesie type shirt that is too small now & "goes into her butt" as she likes to say. There is also the one she got for Christmas that can be worn over anything.

But I knew she wanted one that was attached to a shirt......So........I took an old stained shirt that she hadn't worn in awhile (wow - didn't realize it was THAT bad!) and some leftover tulle and fabric (look familiar Kelly?) and made a little shirt for her. All I did was fold & sew the tulle along the bottom of the shirt and then I steam-a-seamed the leaf-shapes onto the stained area. I choose to top stitch the leaf edges - just in case. This photo is before I ironed & sewed the pieces on - I did move them a bit.

Viola - an old throw-out shirt is now wearable & fun!

Fun New Project- Book Marks!

So I have been trying to make new projects lately - expand myself a bit......anyways I had wanted to make cute bookmarks - so here they are! Technically they are "book thongs". They have waxed cotton cording so they don't slip out of the book and each has a fun handstamped piece on it as well as glass beads. They will be making their debut at the Craftacular which is just 1 short week away........ They would make great little Valentine gifts for any reader - maybe with a gift card for the bookstore??

Easy Banana Cream Pie Recipe

Mmmmmmm........Pie.......

What's better than pie? An easy to make, easy to change pie recipe!

1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding
1 cup cold milk
1/2 t vanilla
2 cups cool whip (if there is extra save it for the top)
2 sliced bananas
1 ready-made pie crust (I had a chocolate one)

In a bowl combine milk, pudding mix vanilla & cool whip - mix on low speed until well blended (or hand stir it - I did) then mix for another 2 minutes until thick.
Pour 1/3 of of mixture into your crust, lay the sliced bananas on top.
Pour remaining filling over the bananas. Top with any remaining cool whip.
Chill 2 hours - serve & enjoy!

The nice thing is this pie recipe is it's very flexible to what you have on hand. I had a chocolate pie crust, but a graham cracker or Nilla wafer one is great too. You can also use any instant pudding mix you have - like banana or chocolate or cookies & cream. Not a fan of bananas? Leave them out :)
