Easy Easter Card Tutorial
So my girls have been doing a bit of painting lately & the paper is piling up. I was thinking I should use the paintings & make some cute Easter cards to send out.
All you need is some artwork you are okay to cut up
A cookie Cutter (I had a bunny head)
A pencil
Glue Stick
Blank Cards - I have the pre-cut & folded ones from the craft store
First- get your drawing/painting & flip it over
Second place your cookie-cutter on & trace
Then cut it out & glue them to the card stock
Ta-dah! You're done & now have Easter cards to send out to the family!

A Date with Dexter
Ahhhhh......Dexter.....what a wonderful show.....
For those of you who aren't' aware Dexter is the name of a show on Showtime (based on a book with a similar title) that is about a man (Dexter) who is a blood analyst for the police who happens to be a serial killer. He kills people who are bad & have slipped thru the justice cracks.
Anyways, it's very good and I got into while I had Netflix. I was able to watch seasons 1-3 thru them, but didn't really feel like getting Showtime to watch season 4 (figured I'd watch it on DVD later). Well - we have a free preview of Showtime this weekend & Dexter is on! I started watching season 4 last night. So far it is good!
So my plan for the weekend is to watch the rest of season 4 & hopefully fit some crafting in as I have a show in April now - details to follow!

Ahh...It's Friday
I am very excited for the weekend! I am hoping to take the girls to the movies tomorrow - hopefully little Syd's cold will clear up a bit. Then Sunday is Will's birthday......
I'm needing to get a little sewing done & restock A TON of stamped pieces. Between what I've taken to Dainty Daisies & Bolio I have nothing stocked up. And the market will be here before I know it.

Boston Creme Pie Recipe
Okay - I am pretty proud of this one! Look at it - it's perfect! And I usually am not so great at baking *translation - I have trouble "following" recipes - I like to wing it - that doesn't work great when baking.
Anyways, it's a friends birthday tomorrow so I decided he should have a cake, so here is the easy recipe.
1- 9" yellow cake the cake mix I had made 2,but my mom claims there is a box that makes just 1
1 small box of ready to serve vanilla pudding
1-1/2 cups thawed whipped cream
1 cup milk
1 square UNSWEETENED baking chocolate - yes the gross by itself flavor
1 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup powdered sugar
______
First I had to bake my cake - just go according to your box
Once cake is cooled, use a serrated knife to cut it in half
Mix your pudding mix & 1 cup milk, then stir in the whipped cream, let sit for 5 minutes
Spread pudding mix on the bottom layer of the cake, put the top on
In a small bowl put the chocolate square & tablespoon of butter in the micro for 1 minute
Stir until chocolate has melted, then mix in the powdered sugar - mix WELL
Pour chocolate over the top & pop in the fridge for at least an hour.
ENJOY

Berries For Summer

Oh to be a little one and pull this look off...
Here our little Syd is donning a pink waffle shirt with her big sisters skirt.....the shirt is accented by sparkly green fairy wings and the whole look is pulled together with pink and black legwarmers - Flashdance style...
Funny little kid - did you guess she whipped this ensemble up all by herself?

So I repainted
My living room...it was a burnt-orangish color with a faux-finish that was an accident - we were sold 2 different colors of paint while painting! Yikes....So I really toned it down and went with a nice neutral called "dune" I also put on slipcovers on the furniture. They went on pretty easily & I still need to rehang my pics and I also want to make some fun pillows for the couch.
I also picked this cute chair up from the thrift for $6 and this pillow from Shopko for only 1.99.
I hope you all had a nice weekend

New Headbands at Dainty Daises
I took 15 new fabric headbands to Dainty Daisies yesterday.......so there is a nice, fresh selection.
I also have a fun new style there as well - see the photos below. They are ribbon headbands made from velvet ribbon & they are so cute on - it looks like you have 2 in, but it's cleverly 1, I also brought ones with fun fabric buttons on non-slip elastic headbands....they are all $7 each.
ps - I am a photo theif today....thanks Michelle! http://daintydaisies.blogspot.com

Long Night
So....last night was a LONG night. Right before bedtime it became apparent that little Audrey had a bladder infection or UTI. She was so miserable & was afraid to get off the potty because she still was "full of pee".
Will took her in last night because she wouldn't get off the potty to sleep. Sure enough - UTI. Their paperwork was time stamped 1:43 am so I called her in from school today.
Poor girl - but it seems like we caught it early so she wasn't hurting or anything..
Have a great day all

March is here!!
Therefore we are 1 step closer to spring!
I spent yesterday repainting my living room. I am -almost- done. I was going to be a little short on paint & didn't really want to move the entertainment center by myself so I will finish it up this week when Will can help me move it. I took a before picture too. I'll post those when I am finished. I am also planning to get slip covers for the couch & chair as new furniture really isn't in the budget right now! And luckily Target has them on sale this week!
Sorry I haven't posted my apron tutorial yet - I have been kind of intimidated to do it......the pictures were easy, making it was easy but putting it all into to words is hard I say!
Happy Monday to you all.
