Berries For Summer

I just ordered 25 strawberry plants for our yard. I am so looking forward to spring & summer! I read the reviews on the particular variety I ordered & most people got fruit the first summer and the plants were doing very well...

If all goes well I'll have to figure out how to make strawberry jam.

Hello Spring - Can you hear me?

We really miss you here in Wisconsin....it snowed again last night. I am getting mighty tired of all the snow. I just ordered 3 lilac trees and can't wait to plant them. As soon as you get here spring, I will do that!

In Bloom

So a few days ago a lady I work with brought these 2 "cacti" into the office. One was about to bloom and it only blooms for 1 day. Since we have big windows in the front she left them here to get some nice full light & she didn't want to miss the flower.

Here is what we found this morning.

How neat is that?!

Is an Aqua Globe the answer?

So, from my previous posts you know that my hindu/hoya rope plant has bloomed several times in the last few months...well it's growing flower buds again! I can't even believe it.

The only thing I've done differently over the last year is I put in an aqua globe for watering.....

I think I will be getting more for my other house plants (PS - I do NOT have a green thumb!)

In Bloom - Again!

Looks like my Hindu (hoya) rope plant is going to bloom again. Here is what the begining of the flower buds look like. I can't believe it has bloomed 3 times in the last year.

I will post more pictures as the flowers come in.....

Hoya (Hindu) Rope Plant in Bloom

I was giving a Hoya(Hindu) rope plant by my Aunt Sheryl about 6 years ago. She loved the plant and had it for over 20 years. When she moved to Alaska it needed a new home so she gave it to me! The first year I had it to grew a cluster of pink waxy looking flowers, I tried to take pictures of it then but had a film camera at the time (no marco!) so they didn't turn out.

It has been 5 years since then & it has flowered once again....the right picture is of the way they look first all pink & waxy, then they open up & look like stars. It's really a neat thing.
